THE LIFE OF MANDY SEXTON Mandy, Scot, and their children, Tuesdai and Colin, live in Nederland. Scot grew up in Nederland (NHS class of 1990), and most of his close-knit family still live in Mid County. Mandy is a devoted wife and mother who has contributed much of her time, talent, and money in serving various organizations & families in our local community. She and her family are resolved to seek out the light in the dark during this challenging time.

THE DIAGNOSIS Since July of 2018, Mandy has been unable to work or drive, staying mostly homebound with vertigo and mini seizures. She has been frequently bedridden since late October with more severe symptoms like debilitating head and neck pain, as the lining of her brain and upper spinal column swell. Her current tentative diagnosis is a CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) leak and she is anticipating the need for surgery to recover. She is often dependent on her husband, Scot, for care. Recently, more frequent and severe pain has made them intent on enjoying whatever pain-free time she is given. Outings to her favorite restaurants (and rare trips to a craft store) now feel like exciting vacations to them.
